A mobile phone is one of the common appliances that we find in everyone’s hand nowadays. The purpose of it is to communicate on the go. Earlier it was just a status symbol and now has become a necessity. The major parts of a mobile phone are a rechargeable battery, a display card and a SIM card. Based on the SIM card the phone can be classified as GSM and CDMA. Every mobile phone has a unique IMEI id. Earlier the mobile phone was mainly meant for speaking and later the messaging came to practice. However, now it includes many other applications such as games, mp3 player, video player, camera of high resolution, GPS and even WIFI. As a result they are classified as basic phones, speaker phones, colour phones, radio phones, music phones, camera phones and smart phones. Many international companies have taken up its production and there is a large competition among them and the prices are decreasing continuously. Nokia is currently the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones closely followed by Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and LG.

The HTC Magic Mobile Phone will be the first touch screen phone to use the Google android platform. It will also have a built in 3.5 mega pixel camera. The Google android operating system is open-source, which allows for more customization then competing systems, like the Apple iPhone, because there is not a company closely monitoring what software customers are allowed to use. The phone has a built in web browser for high speed web browsing, and users can also download new software programs in the special Android Marketplace. A great advantage of the HTC Magic mobile phone over other phones that run Google android is that the phone will be free to people who sign up for a two year contact. Many other phones with similar feature sets can cost £100 or more upfront, before even figuring in the cost of monthly phone and data plans. This phone is a great option for people wanting to enter the Smartphone market without breaking the bank.
